The outlet stores are where you can get real bargains. Factory’s send items to outlet stores for multiple reasons. Sometimes there was a mistake made that is barely noticeable at the factory. When this happens the item can not be sold for original retail price and the department stores do not want it.

These items are just fine pieces of furniture but can not be sold at high prices. The customer savvy enough to travel to the factory outlet store will grab those deals.
Sometimes the furniture is perfect but the locations they were supposed to be sent are no longer there.

Some stores in this economy have been downsizing to deal with the economic crunch. In these cases the unsold merchandise gets sent back to the factory and placed in an outlet to be sold at discount. For whatever reason the fine furniture ends up at the factory outlet it means big savings for the customer.
